Rifle Range Upgrades under consideration
At the past 2 monthly meetings, there have been some discussions on making improvements to the rifle range. The first priority is to build a roof over the shooting benches and also a railing across the front of the benches to require all shooters to walk down-range via the hill along the driveway.
Some of the other improvements that are being entertained are:
1) A gun rack / locker to place your weapons while waiting for your turn to use a shooting bench.
2) New belting material as a backstop. We are looking into obtaining heavy "conveyor" belting from a quarry and stretch it between the posts. This material will allow you to staple your targets to it and will last much longer than other materials.
3) Repairs to existing shooting benches and depending on the financials, perhaps putting in additional benches.
4) Building of Stairs along the driveway to go from the shooting area to walk up to the backstops.
